The vineyards
All the work in the vineyards is done in the traditional way and by family members, following the criteria to produce a genuine product, with important sensory and organoleptic characteristics. The vineyards are located in the farm, at San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, with the exception of one vineyard located at Neive and they can be divided as follows:
- Mottura vineyards were the first vineyards owned by the family and their exposure is to east and west.
- Avoglieri Argantino vineyards are located in a natural amphitheater, sheltered from the wind and hail, and are exposed southeast. In Mottura and Avoglieri Argantino vineyards the grapes of Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato and Sauvignon are cultivated. - The vineyards over the river Seno d’Elvio hills, exposed to Southwest, produce the Barbaresco Sanadaive (which means Seno d’Elvio in Piemonte’s dialect).
- The Basarin vineyard is located at Neive, the geographic site from which it is named. It is a steep hill with southeast exposure. The Barbaresco Basarin is produced here.
