This year we hope for a Christmas to unite us and bring us peace and serenity.

DECEMBER 2023

Another year has flown by…

As with every other year, I’m amazed how quickly time passes–

December seemed so far away and all of a sudden it’s here!

It hasn’t been an easy year–I won't elaborate–but I can truthfully say, that we've given our all and done our best. Again this year I am reminded of the truth in the saying,

‘Unity is strength’, shown once again by our great team and family and I say this with great pride.

FIVI

“Unity is strength”

We had occasion to repeat this phrase during the recent Mercato dei vini dei vignaioli indipendenti FIVI. for independent winemakers fair in Bologna a few weeks ago.

This was the first edition to be held in Bologna and we are extremely happy to report it was a great success. The special atmosphere of this event for winemakers was as strong as ever, perhaps because there were more of us than ever before–1000 participants!

AROUND AND ABOUT

Our place is a real hive of activity in December.

Everyone is involved in preparing orders to send off, arranging for couriers as well as out racking up kilometres in the van making deliveries to you to put in your Christmas presents.

We feel lucky to work so hard!

AS ALWAYS, WE THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING US!

December is the month for sending good wishes and for giving presents; it's the month with the last of the end-of-year meetings as well as the last of the cellar visits and tastings on the estate.

December is completely chock-a-block and thus all events are on stand-by until the New Year.

IN THE VINEYARD

The art of pruning

With these short winter days there is a different rhythm in the vineyard.

One of the great pleasures of this job is being able to stay in tune with the changing seasons.

This does us a power of good and keeps our feet firmly on the ground.

Hence we have begun to prune and in particular, the vines most affected by the July hail; these have suffered badly and we will have to think hard how to restore them.

In the meantime, we are very much hoping for rain, and hoping even more for some snow.

Cross your fingers please!
